What We Offer
Expert Eye Care for Every Stage of Life
From your child's first exam to advanced disease management, Dr. Patel provides personalized, evidence-based care for every patient.
Comprehensive Eye Exams
A comprehensive eye exam is far more than a vision check. Dr. Patel evaluates the full health of your eyes using advanced diagnostic technology — detecting conditions early, when they're most treatable.
Recommended annually for most patients — more frequently for those with diabetes, glaucoma risk, or other conditions.
What's Included
- Visual acuity and refraction testing for glasses or contact lens prescriptions
- Intraocular pressure measurement to screen for glaucoma
- Dilated fundus exam to assess the retina, optic nerve, and macula
- Binocular vision and eye coordination assessment
- Screening for systemic conditions including diabetes and hypertension
Contact Lens Fittings
Not all contact lenses are created equal. Dr. Patel specializes in fitting a full range of lens types — including specialty lenses for patients who have been told they can't wear contacts.
Specialty lens fittings require additional measurements and trial lens sessions — we take the time to get it right.
What's Included
- Soft lenses: daily, bi-weekly, and monthly disposables
- Toric lenses for astigmatism correction
- Multifocal lenses for presbyopia
- Scleral lenses for irregular corneas, keratoconus, and dry eye
- Orthokeratology (Ortho-K) for overnight vision correction and myopia control
- Rigid gas-permeable (RGP) lenses for optimal clarity
Eye Disease Management
Many serious eye conditions develop gradually with no early symptoms. Dr. Patel provides expert diagnosis and ongoing management to preserve your vision and quality of life.
Early detection is key. Regular monitoring can prevent or slow vision loss in most chronic eye conditions.
What's Included
- Glaucoma: intraocular pressure monitoring, visual field testing, and treatment coordination
- Age-related macular degeneration (AMD): monitoring, nutritional counseling, and referral for injections when indicated
- Diabetic eye disease: annual dilated exams and co-management with your primary care physician
- Dry eye disease: comprehensive evaluation and personalized treatment plans including drops, lid hygiene, and in-office therapies
- Hypertensive retinopathy and other systemic eye manifestations
Low Vision
Low vision refers to significant visual impairment that cannot be fully corrected with standard glasses, contacts, or surgery. Dr. Patel provides specialized evaluations and recommends devices and strategies to help patients maintain independence and quality of life.
Low vision care is about maximizing independence — not just measuring what's lost.
What's Included
- Comprehensive low vision evaluation to assess functional vision
- Prescription of optical aids: magnifiers, telescopes, and high-powered reading glasses
- Electronic magnification devices and screen-reading technology guidance
- Referral to low vision rehabilitation specialists and occupational therapists
- Support for patients with macular degeneration, glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, and other conditions
Cataract Co-Management
Cataracts are the leading cause of reversible vision loss worldwide. Dr. Patel works closely with trusted ophthalmologic surgeons to guide patients through every step of the cataract journey.
We coordinate closely with your surgeon so your care is seamless from diagnosis through recovery.
What's Included
- Early detection and monitoring of cataract progression
- Surgical referral when cataracts significantly impact daily activities
- Pre-operative measurements and intraocular lens (IOL) selection guidance
- Post-operative care and follow-up to ensure optimal healing and vision
- Management of premium IOL options: monofocal, toric, and multifocal lenses
LASIK Co-Management
LASIK and other refractive surgeries can reduce or eliminate dependence on glasses and contacts. Dr. Patel provides thorough pre-surgical evaluations and comprehensive post-operative care.
Not everyone is a LASIK candidate — we'll give you an honest assessment and help you make the best decision for your eyes.
What's Included
- Candidacy evaluation: corneal mapping, dry eye assessment, and prescription stability review
- Referral to experienced refractive surgeons in the greater Los Angeles area
- Post-operative follow-up at 1 day, 1 week, 1 month, and beyond
- Management of post-LASIK dry eye and other complications
- Co-management for PRK, LASEK, and SMILE procedures as well
